Biography of the Band "Kombinatsiya"
The history of the band "Kombinatsiya" began in 1988 in Saratov, Russia. During this time, the music industry was just emerging, and the relationships between band members were different than what they are today. The founders of the band, Alexander Shishinin and Vitaly Okorokov, got the idea to create their own group after attending a concert by a popular Soviet band. Shishinin found many of the future members of the group on the streets of Saratov.
The name of the group, "Kombinatsiya," was given by Shishinin, but the reason behind the name remains a mystery. In 1989, the band released their first album, "Russian girls," which featured the hit song "Russian girls" that quickly became popular throughout the country. The band faced difficulties when it came to their appearance as they had to sew costumes from whatever materials they could find due to the shortage of resources in the country at the time.
In 1991, their second album, "Moscow registration," was released and became even more successful than their first. Songs like "American boy," "Accountant," and "Love leaves slowly" became popular hits that remain relevant to this day. The band's free-spirited songs and behavior shocked the Soviet public, but they were widely embraced by a society hungry for freedom.
In the 90s, the band went through several lineup changes, with Alena Apina leaving the group and Alexander Shishinin tragically losing his life in an armed attack. Despite these challenges, the band continued to release albums, including "Two pieces of sausage" (1993), "The most, the most..." (1994), and "Let's chat" (1998). Tatiana Ivanova, the band's lead vocalist, remained a constant member of the group throughout these changes.
Today, Tatiana Ivanova continues to tour with the band, performing their timeless hits and bringing joy to fans across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The popularity of "Kombinatsiya" can be attributed to the nostalgia it evokes for card games, cherry nines, discos, and first kisses in the courtyards. Many fans credit the band's songs for shaping their upbringing and, though unconventional, Ivanova takes pride in this accomplishment.
The secret to the band's success, according to Ivanova, is simply being in the right place at the right time. The band members believe that luck played a significant role in their journey, propelling them to fame and recognition during a time of cultural and societal change.
