Early Life and Career

Konstantin "Kostya" Tszyu was born on September 19, 1969, in Serov, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. From a young age, he showed an aptitude for boxing and began training at the age of 10.

Tszyu's amateur career was marked by numerous successes, including winning the Soviet Union Lightweight Championship and representing his country at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. After the Olympics, he turned professional and relocated to Australia.

Professional Boxing Career

In 1995, Tszyu captured his first world title, the IBF Lightweight Championship, by defeating Jake Rodriguez. He successfully defended the belt against several notable opponents, establishing himself as one of the top fighters in the lightweight division.

In 1999, Tszyu moved up to the light-welterweight division and won the WBA and WBC Super Lightweight titles. He held these belts for several years, cementing his legacy as one of the most dominant boxers of his era.

Legacy and Honors

Tszyu retired from boxing in 2005 with an impressive record of 31 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. He was known for his exceptional speed, agility, and devastating punching power.
