Early Life and Career

Krasimir Balakov was born on March 29, 1966, in the village of Hotnitsa, Bulgaria. His exceptional talent was evident from a young age, and he began his professional career with Etar (Veliko Tarnovo).

Move to Portugal and Germany

In 1991, Balakov joined Sporting CP in Portugal, where he showcased his skills for several years. In 1995, he made a significant move to Stuttgart in Germany.

International Success

Balakov was an integral member of the Bulgarian national team, representing his country in the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups and the 1996 UEFA European Championship. He played a pivotal role in Bulgaria's historic fourth-place finish at the 1994 World Cup.

Peak of his Career

After turning 30, Balakov entered a golden period in his career. Playing as a midfielder for Stuttgart, he became the highest-paid player in Germany. His exceptional vision and passing ability made him a central figure in both his club and national team.
