The Creation of Krasnaya Pantera

In 1988, Ovanes Melik-Pashaev, inspired by Olga Kormukhina's success in the group ROK-ATELIER, established the hard rock band Krasnaya Pantera (Red Panther). The catalyst was the popular single "Time Has Come," written by Konstantin Veretennikov and Vadim Uslanov.

Formation and Lineup

The initial lineup included Veretennikov on guitar, Uslanov on bass, Oleg Khovrin (ex-DIVO) on drums, and Igor Andreev (ex-Martin, Cherny Kofe) on guitar. Soon after, Vladimir Kazakov joined on keyboards.

Album and Touring Success

In October 1988, Krasnaya Pantera released their debut album, "Time Has Come." The band toured extensively with Cherny Kofe and Mister Twister, gaining significant recognition.

Olga Kormukhina's Departure

In December 1988, Kormukhina chose to pursue a solo career in pop music. She formed a new band that included most of the Krasnaya Pantera members, but Veretennikov and Uslanov remained.

Disbandment

Disgruntled with the band's stylistic shift, the remaining members dissolved the group. Kormukhina joined Alla Pugacheva's theater, while Khovrin, Veretennikov, and Kazakov joined Galaktika. Andreev returned to Cherny Kofe.

Legacy

Despite their brief tenure, Krasnaya Pantera's songs remain elusive gems. The unreleased album "Time Has Come" stands as a testament to their potential.
