Kristy Swanson (born Kristen Noel Swanson) is an American film and television actress. She was born on December 19, 1969, in Mission Viejo, California. Swanson began her career in show business at the age of 9, appearing in television commercials. By the time she was 13, she had already appeared in over 30 commercials and received an invitation to her first role in the Disney Channel television series "Dreamfinders".
Early Career
Soon after, Swanson convinced her parents to move to Hollywood, where she landed small roles in John Hughes' films "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Pretty in Pink" in 1986. That same year, she played her first leading role as Samantha Pringle in the film "Deadly Friend". In 1987, she received an invitation to star in V.C. Andrews' best-selling novel adaptation "Flowers in the Attic". By 1990, Swanson had appeared in numerous television projects, including popular series such as "Lonesome Dove" and "B.L. Stryker".
