The Korean violinist embarked on his musical journey in 1995 when he traveled to Russia to pursue his studies. Under the tutelage of the esteemed Eduard Grach, he honed his skills at the Central Music School in Moscow. He subsequently enrolled in the prestigious Moscow Conservatory under the same renowned maestro.
Masterful Performances and Competitions
Throughout his time in Russia, the violinist participated in various master classes conducted by renowned musicians such as Shlomo Mintz and Ida Haendel. His exceptional talent was recognized at the III International Tchaikovsky Youth Competition in 1997, where he secured a commendable second place. This triumph was followed by a series of victories at international competitions, including the Yampolsky International Competition (2002) in Penza, the Moscow International Paganini Violin Competition (2004), and the Carl Nielsen International Competition (2004) in Odense.
Orchestral Collaborations and Notable Performances
The violinist's career soared as he began performing with esteemed Russian orchestras from 1997 onwards. His virtuosity was showcased in a remarkable performance of Niccolò Paganini's 24 Caprices in Moscow in 2004, captivating audiences with his technical prowess and musical sensitivity.
