Early Life and Career

Lesley-Anne Down was born on March 17, 1954, in the Wandsworth area of London, England. She began her acting and modeling career in her teenage years, winning several beauty pageants. At the age of fifteen, she was crowned "the most beautiful teenager in Britain."

Marriages and Relationships

After ten years of being in a relationship with actor and screenwriter Bruce Robinson, Down married Enrique Gabriel in 1980. However, their marriage ended after only a year and a half. Her second husband was film director William Friedkin, with whom she lived for three years and had one son. She met her third husband, Don Fauntleroy, on the set of the miniseries "North and South" in 1985. They realized they were perfect for each other, which led to the dissolution of their respective marriages. The ensuing legal battles lasted for two years and cost Down and Fauntleroy a total of approximately one million dollars each. In 1998, they had a son named George-Edward.

Lesley-Anne Down's acting career started with her role as Georgina Worsley in the popular British series "Upstairs, Downstairs."
