Biography of Laurent Dubreuil
Laurent Dubreuil is a Canadian speed skater who specializes in the 500 and 1000-meter distances.
Early Career
In 2012, Dubreuil won first place in the 500-meter distance at the Junior World Championships in Speed Skating. He also achieved third place in the 1000-meter distance at the same event.
Continued Success
At the 2014 World Sprint Speed Skating Championships, Dubreuil finished in 9th place in the overall standings. The following year, he improved his performance and came in 8th place at the same championship.
In 2015, Dubreuil secured a 3rd place finish in the 500-meter distance at the Salt Lake City World Cup in Speed Skating. Later that year, he competed in Herenvene, where he achieved 12th place in the first race and 9th place in the second race of the 500-meter distance.
International Achievements
In 2016, Dubreuil won first place in the team sprint event at the World Cup in Nagano and finished in 2nd place in the same event in Herenvene.
Dubreuil's notable achievements also include winning a bronze medal in the 500-meter distance at the 2015 World Championships in Speed Skating. In 2016, he finished 6th in the 1000-meter distance at the World Championships. However, in 2017, he dropped to 12th place in the same event.
