Belgian Child Prodigy Graduates with Physics Degree at Age 11
At the tender age of 11, Laurent Simons from Belgium has achieved an extraordinary feat by graduating from the University of Antwerp with a bachelor's degree in physics. It took him a mere year to complete the program that typically requires three years.
Aiming for a Master's and Beyond
Undeterred by his academic success, Simons has set his sights on pursuing a master's degree at the University of Ghent. He has an ambitious goal of exploring the topic of immortality. "I want to be able to replace as many organs as possible with artificial ones," Simons said.
Early Academic Prowess
Simons' brilliance has been evident since a young age. He completed the entire curriculum at a school in Bruges in just one and a half years. His fame soared in late 2019 when, at the age of nine, he was poised to graduate with a degree in electrical engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology. However, he left the institution due to a dispute between the university administration and his parents over his graduation date.
