Early Life and Club Career
Leander Dendoncker is a Belgian footballer who currently plays as a defensive midfielder for Anderlecht and the Belgian national team. He was born on April 15, 1995, in Diksmuide, Belgium. Dendoncker began his football career at the youth academies of Roeselare and Anderlecht.
On July 21, 2013, he made his senior debut for Anderlecht in the Belgian Super Cup against Genk. Despite only playing one match, Dendoncker became a Super Cup winner. He made his Belgian Pro League debut on August 1, 2014, against Oostende, coming on as a substitute for Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Dendoncker scored his first goal for Anderlecht on January 18, 2015, in a match against Lierse. In the same year, he helped his team win both the Belgian Pro League and the Belgian Super Cup. Dendoncker went on to win a second Belgian Pro League title with Anderlecht in 2017.
International Career
Dendoncker represented Belgium at the youth level, participating in the 2012 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Slovenia. He made appearances in matches against Poland, the Netherlands, and Slovenia.
On July 7, 2015, Dendoncker made his debut for the Belgian national team in a friendly match against France, replacing Jason Denayer in the second half.
