Biography of In-Grid
Italian singer Ingrid Alberini, who conquered the global pop scene under the pseudonym In-Grid, was born in the city of Guastalla near Parma. Ingrid was named after the Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman by her parents.
Childhood and Inspiration
Ingrid's childhood was filled with watching numerous films, which she believes played a decisive role in her decision to become a singer. The movies sparked her imagination and with each passing day, increased her desire to share intense emotions with as many people as possible. She began to act, draw, sing, and soon realized that music was the most powerful form of self-expression. Therefore, she chose her profession as a composer and arranger.
Early Success
Ingrid's first major success came in 1994 when she won the regional competition "Sanremo Voice." However, it was the song "Tu Es Foutu," born out of personal tragedy, that brought Ingrid worldwide fame. After being abandoned by her loved one, she traveled to the French Riviera to heal her emotional wounds. The desire to pour out her emotions, along with the French atmosphere of the resort, worked their magic, and the song was written.
Global Recognition
Eventually, fate brought Ingrid together with world-renowned producers Larry Pignagnoli and Marco Soncini, and soon the hit was released. Recently, Ingrid released her new album "La Vie En Rose" featuring cover versions of French chansons from the "golden age." This is her second album, with the first being the highly successful "Rendez-Vous" album, which included the mega-hit "Tu Es Foutu."
