Lindemann: Industrial Metal Powerhouse
Genesis of the ProjectLindemann, a metal project, was conceived on January 4, 2015, by legendary Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann and prolific musician Peter Tägtgren. Named after its prominent member, the band's musical style is rooted in industrial metal.
The Road to Collaboration
The genesis of Lindemann's partnership began in 2000 in Sweden, where Lindemann and his Rammstein bandmate Christian Lorenz encountered Tägtgren. Tägtgren's intervention in a heated confrontation between Rammstein members and bikers sparked a connection that laid the groundwork for their future collaboration.
The Debut Album: "Skills in Pills"
When Rammstein went on hiatus in 2013, Lindemann and Tägtgren seized the opportunity to pursue their project. On January 4, 2015, Lindemann's Facebook page announced the formation of the band, accompanied by a provocative image depicting the duo as newlyweds.
"Skills in Pills," their debut album, was painstakingly crafted over a year in Tägtgren's studio. The song "Ladyboy" marked the inception of their songwriting process. Clemens Wijers, a member of Carach Angren, contributed to the track "That's My Heart."
The first single, "Praise Abort," was released on May 28, debuting at number 56 on the German iTunes chart. "Skills in Pills" followed on June 23, 2015, soaring to the top of the German charts.
Live Performances and Future Collaborations
Tägtgren and Lindemann have expressed a desire to embark on a concert tour in support of the album. While both are currently focused on their primary bands, they performed "Praise Abort" together at a Pain concert in Hamburg on November 9, 2016.
The Literary-Musical Tour: "Messer"
In September 2018, a literary-musical tour titled "Messer" was announced in support of the Russian-language release of Lindemann's poetry collection. The events featured readings and musical performances accompanied by Schmerz and Pain musicians.
"F & M" Album and Tour
On August 16, 2019, Tägtgren revealed that the band's second album had been completed and mastered. The lead single, "Steh Auf," was released on September 10 with an accompanying music video featuring Swedish actor Peter Stormare. The full album, "F & M," followed on November 22.
Lindemann embarked on a European tour in February and March 2020 in support of "F & M."
