Early Life and Career

Born on February 23, 1993, in St. George's, Grenada, Lindon Victor embarked on an athletic journey from a young age. In 2009, he began representing Grenada in junior competitions within the Caribbean region. His early international exposure included participating in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, where he placed 13th in the javelin throw.

Collegiate and Early Senior Career

Victor furthered his studies and athletic career in the United States at Texas A&M University. He joined the university's track and field team and excelled in collegiate competitions. Notably, he became a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I decathlon champion.

Victor's senior international debut came in 2014 at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he finished ninth in the decathlon with 7429 points. The following year, he placed seventh at the Pan American Games in Toronto.

Olympic and Commonwealth Success

Victor's achievements earned him a spot on Grenada's national team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He scored 7998 points in the decathlon, claiming 16th place overall. The honor of serving as Grenada's flag bearer at the Olympic closing ceremony was bestowed upon him.

Despite a disappointing showing at the 2017 World Championships in London, where he failed to complete the competition, Victor rebounded in 2018. He triumphed at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, securing the gold medal in the decathlon. That same year, he also competed in the heptathlon at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham.

In 2019, Victor once again showcased his prowess by winning the silver medal at the Pan American Games in Lima, trailing only Canadian decathlete Damian Warner. However, at the World Championships in Doha, he faced setbacks and withdrew early after failing in the discus throw and pole vault events.

Interestingly, Lindon Victor is the stepbrother of fellow Grenadian decathlete Kurt Felix. Both athletes have brought great recognition to Grenada on the international stage.
