Debut and Early Success

Della Casa's debut came in 1941 in Zurich, where she sang the role of Annina in "Der Rosenkavalier." Her performance at the 1947 Salzburg Festival as Zdenka in Strauss's "Arabella" propelled her into the spotlight.

International Acclaim

Following her Salzburg triumph, Della Casa graced the stage of the Vienna State Opera. In 1953, she made her debuts at the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, as Countess Almaviva and Arabella, respectively.
