Early Years and Career
Viktor Kassai, a Hungarian football referee, began his refereeing career at the age of 15 and progressed through the regional ranks in Hungary. In 1995, he became a referee for the Hungarian Football Federation.
Domestic and International Experience
In 1999, Kassai debuted in the Hungarian championship, where he officiated over 150 matches. He also worked in Saudi Arabia and Egypt during this period. His first international experience came in the 2000/01 season with the UEFA Regions' Cup.
In 2003, Kassai was included in FIFA's list of referees at the age of 27. His first European club match was in the UEFA Cup that year.

Kassai's performance in the 2011 UEFA Champions League Final made him the youngest referee to officiate the decisive match. In 2011, the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) named him the Best Referee in the World.
