Luka Budisavljević: A Serbian Chess Prodigy

Early Successes

Luka Budisavljević, a Serbian chess prodigy, emerged as a formidable talent from a young age. In 2019, he triumphed at the prestigious "Open Tatry" international chess tournament. The same year, he shared first place in the Serbian Junior Chess Championship in the Under-20 age group.

Online and Offline Dominance

Budisavljević's online prowess was equally impressive. In 2020, he reigned supreme at the Balkan Youth Online Chess Championship in the Under-16 individual category. He also led the Serbian team to a third-place finish in the team competition.

Becoming a Grandmaster

In November 2021, Budisavljević participated in the FIDE Grand Swiss Tournament in Riga, where he finished a commendable 105th. His consistent achievements in FIDE tournaments earned him the International Master (IM) title in 2020 and the coveted Grandmaster (GM) title in 2021.

Serbian History Maker

At the tender age of 16 years, 10 months, and 7 days, Budisavljević entered the history books by becoming the youngest Grandmaster in the annals of Serbian chess. His remarkable talent and dedication have cemented his place as a rising star in the chess world.
