Early Career and World Cup DebutMario Klaeppfer is a renowned Austrian Nordic combined skier who made his World Cup debut on January 29, 2005. His first podium finish came in January 2009 as part of the team relay.
Podium Finishes and Overall World Cup Performance
Klaeppfer has achieved four third-place finishes in World Cup events, one in individual competition and three in team relays. His best overall World Cup ranking was 14th in the 2008-09 season.
Olympic Success
At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Klaeppfer placed 12th in the normal hill + 10 km event and 15th in the large hill + 10 km competition. However, he claimed a bronze medal as part of Austria's team relay.
World Championships and Pyeongchang Olympics
Klaeppfer has participated in two World Championships, with his highest finish being fifth in the team relay at the 2013 World Championships. In the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, he earned a bronze medal in the normal hill + 10 km event, finishing third with a time just 18.1 seconds behind the gold medalist.
