Lyndsy Marie Fonseca, born on January 7, 1987, is an American actress best known for her roles as Colleen Carlton in the CBS soap opera "The Young and The Restless," Dylan Mayfair in the ABC hit series "Desperate Housewives," and the daughter of Ted Mosby in the comedy project "How I Met Your Mother."

Early Life and Career
Lyndsy was born in Oakland and grew up in Alameda and Moraga. At a young age, she participated in the International Modeling & Talent Association (IMTA) competition, where she became the second runner-up for "Young Dancer of the Year" and the first runner-up for "Young Talent of the Year." Her talent was quickly recognized, and she soon had an agent and manager.

In her early teens, Lyndsy moved to Los Angeles and began her acting career in the pilot season of a TV series. She gained significant recognition for her role as Colleen Carlton in "The Young and The Restless," which she played for three years. By this time, Fonseca had also developed impressive dance skills, continually honing her abilities at a ballet studio.

Personal Life and Further Career
Lyndsy has a younger sister, Hannah Leigh Dworkin, who is also pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. At the age of fourteen, Lyndsy landed the role of Colleen and signed a three-year contract, prompting her family to relocate to Los Angeles.
After her contract ended, Lyndsy continued to appear regularly on television, starring in TV films, two pilot episodes of new series, and an independent film. She also secured smaller acting gigs, primarily in television commercials. During this time, she further established herself as an elite dancer, particularly excelling in tap dancing.
Lyndsy also had guest roles as the daughter of the main character in "How I Met Your Mother" and Donna in the HBO project "Big Love." In the fall of 2007, Fonseca joined the cast of "Desperate Housewives," portraying a new resident of Wisteria Lane with a closet full of skeletons.
Outside of her acting and dancing pursuits, Lyndsy has a passion for music. She shares her home with two cats named Gracie and Twiggy. In 2008, she received a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for her work in "Desperate Housewives."
