Early Career

Maciej Rybus, a Polish footballer, began his professional career in 2007 when he joined Legia Warsaw. Prior to that, he had played for the youth teams of Pelican Łowicz and MSP Szamotuły.

Debut and Early Successes

Rybus made his debut for Legia's main team on November 15, 2007, in a Polish Cup match against Dyskobolia Grodzisk. Impressing coach Jan Urban, he was subsequently promoted to the first-team squad. In the Ekstraklasa, Rybus debuted on October 24, 2007, against Polonia Bytom. He scored his first goal for Legia on December 8, 2007, against Górnik Zabrze.

In the 2007/08 season, Rybus made significant contributions to Legia's second-place finish in the league, scoring four goals in 10 appearances. The club also won the Polish Cup and reached the Super Cup final.

Continued Success and European Debut

The 2008/09 season saw Rybus play 27 league matches, scoring three goals. Legia again finished as runners-up in the championship. In Europe, Rybus made his debut in the UEFA Cup qualification rounds against FC Gomel.

Departure to Russia

In February 2012, Rybus signed a 3.5-year contract with Russian Premier League club Terek Grozny. He made his debut on March 3 against Tom Tomsk and scored his first goal for the club a week later against FC Krasnodar.

Injury and Transfer Interest

In September 2012, Rybus suffered a serious injury during training that kept him out for two months. In May 2013, several Russian and Ukrainian clubs expressed interest in acquiring his services.

Move to Lyon

In the summer of 2016, Rybus joined Olympique Lyonnais in France. He made his debut on August 19 against FC Caen, playing the full match.

International Career

Youth and Senior Debut

Rybus represented Poland at the under-21 level, making 11 appearances and scoring one goal. He debuted for the senior team on November 14, 2009, in a friendly against Romania. Three days later, he scored his first international goal against Canada.

Euro 2012

Rybus was included in Poland's squad for Euro 2012. He played 70 minutes in the match against Greece. Poland exited the tournament in the group stage.
