Magdalena Graaf - Swedish Model, Singer, and Writer
Magdalena Graaf is a Swedish model, singer, and writer. She was born in Gothenburg and raised in Kungsängen. At a young age, Graaf found herself in a dangerous situation when she married a Finnish gangster. Thankfully, she was able to escape this horrific marriage and went on to become a well-known model and singer in the country.
The Graaf Sisters
In 1998, Graaf and her sister Hannah Graaf formed the group "The Graaf Sisters." They gained fame with their hit song "You Got What I Want Baby." The sisters often worked together and even appeared in men's magazines on several occasions.
A Difficult Marriage
Graaf's first marriage was a challenging one. Her husband, Jorma, subjected her to physical and emotional abuse. After an incident where Graaf was shot in the leg, she decided to leave her husband. Despite threats from Jorma, Graaf refused to return to him. She eventually reported him to the authorities and received protection and a new identity.
A New Beginning
For a while, Graaf traveled around the country with her son until she settled in Gothenburg. However, Jorma was released from prison and announced a large reward for Graaf's capture or an attack on her sister Hannah. The police refused to intervene, except for one officer who was later fired for her actions. Another criminal helped Graaf escape and return home. Eventually, Jorma decided to stop pursuing Graaf.
A Comeback
Despite the difficulties she faced, Graaf was determined to rebuild her life. She began actively participating in sports and underwent breast augmentation. Her sister Hannah, who was already a successful model, invited Graaf to a party where she met Swedish musician E-Type. Graaf enjoyed the attention from her new acquaintance, and together with her sister, they performed on stage, marking the beginning of Graaf's modeling career.
A Successful Career
Graaf's career took off after she appeared in several fashion magazines such as "Café," "Moore," and "Slitz." She even graced the cover of "Café" three times. The Graaf Sisters' group became a cultural phenomenon, and in 1998, they signed a contract with Sony BMG and released their hit song "You Got (What I Want)." They eventually took a break from music when both Graaf and Hannah got married and had children.
An Autobiography
In March 2006, Graaf released her autobiography, "Det ska bli ett sant nöje att döda dig" ("With Great Pleasure, I Will Kill You"). The book primarily focused on Graaf's childhood and her first marriage. The title of the book was the last phrase her first husband said to her. Despite her failed first marriage, Graaf did not lose faith in relationships and married Swedish football goalkeeper Magnus Hedman in 1999. They had two children together and lived in Scotland before settling in Stockholm. Unfortunately, their marriage also ended in divorce amid rumors of Magnus's affair with singer Linda Bengtzing.
