Early Life and Political Career

Born in Niger, Mahamadou Danda embarked on his political journey in 1987 when he was appointed Minister of Animals and Water Resources under President Ali Saibou. His tenure lasted until 1988, during which he served as the administrative secretary of the National Movement for the Development Society in the early 1990s.

Transitional Government

Following the 1999 military coup, Danda became Minister of Communication, Culture, Youth, and Sports in the transitional junta. He held this position until the military handed over power to an elected government in December 1999.

Premiership

In 2010, after the military overthrew President Mamadou Tandja, Danda was appointed Prime Minister of Niger on February 23rd. His premiership lasted until April 7th, 2011. During his term, he played a crucial role in facilitating the transition to democracy and civilian rule in Niger.
