Early Life and Career Beginnings
Malcolm Filipe Silva de Oliveira, known simply as Malcom, was born on February 26, 1997, in São Paulo, Brazil. His footballing journey started at the tender age of 11 when he joined the youth academy of his hometown club, Corinthians.
Club Career
Corinthians (2014-2016)Malcom made his professional debut for Corinthians on April 7, 2014, in a Série A match against Flamengo. He scored his first goal for the club on September 19, 2014, in a match against Chapecoense. In 2015, he helped Corinthians win the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title.
Bordeaux (2016-2018)
In 2016, Malcom joined French club Bordeaux for a fee of €5 million. He made his Ligue 1 debut on February 7, 2016, against Saint-Étienne and scored his first goal for the club in the Coupe de France against Nantes three days later. Malcom had a successful debut season, scoring 9 goals in 45 appearances.
Barcelona (2018-2019)
After a strong performance with Bordeaux, Malcom secured a move to Spanish giants Barcelona in July 2018 for a reported fee of €41 million. He made his La Liga debut on August 25, 2018, as a substitute against Real Valladolid and scored his first goal for the club in the Champions League against Inter Milan on November 6, 2018.
Zenit Saint Petersburg (2019-Present)
In August 2019, Malcom joined Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg for a fee of €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses. He has since become a key player for the club, helping them win the Russian Premier League and Russian Cup in 2020.
International Career
Malcom represented Brazil at both the U-20 and U-23 levels. He was part of the U-23 team that finished as runners-up at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
