Manal Issa: A Rising Star with Diverse Roles
Early Life and EducationManal Issa, a gifted French actress, was born on March 9, 1992, in Angers, France, to Lebanese immigrants. Little is known about her early life, but she attended the University of Angers' engineering school. She has a sister, Nathalie Issa.
Film Career
Issa's cinematic debut came in 2015's "Parisienne," directed by fellow Lebanese-French woman Danièle Arbid. She played Lina, a young woman who, like Arbid, left war-torn Lebanon for the French capital. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and garnered nominations at the Dubai International Film Festival and Les Arcs European Film Festival.
Issa's subsequent roles included Sabrina in Bertrand Bonello's 2016 thriller "Paris is a Feast," and nameless characters in the youth drama "One of These Days" and the comedy "Two Sons." In the Franco-Turkish-German drama "My Favorite Fabric" (2018), she portrayed the lead role of Syrian Nahla.
In 2019, Issa starred alongside French stars Isabelle Huppert and Melvil Poupaud in Eva Ionesco's drama "Golden Youth." She also gained recognition for her performances in "Memory Box" (2021), "Rage" (2021), and "The Sea Ahead" (2021).
