Some of his most notable projects include the sale of the 'Bakker Bart' retail chain to the German group 'Kamps AG', the acquisition of the spray paint company 'Moti Dupli', the purchase of the telecommunications operator 'Novaxess', and the investment in the flight simulator group 'SIM Industries'.

However, Marcel's most impressive operation to date was the purchase and subsequent sale of the Dutch mobile operator 'Telfort'. He bought the company for 300 million euros and sold it to 'KPN' just 9 months later for 1.2 billion euros. Achieving such remarkable profits was not an easy task, but Marcel's series of energetic income-generating operations ultimately yielded the desired results.

Currently, Marcel collaborates with the Dutch newspaper 'De Telegraaf', the German biometrics group 'Voicetrust', the online brokerage firm 'zecco.com', the mobile lottery company 'Openlot', two software companies, and various other enterprises. In addition, he invests his funds in the Dutch football club 'N.E.C. Nijmegen'. This list of sponsored sports does not end there, as Marcel also supports his son-in-law, Giedo van der Garde, who competes in the 'GP2 Series' racing events.

Marcel serves on the supervisory board of the German company 'Implantate AG', and he manages his own zoo, 'Ouwehands Dierenpark'. Additionally, he has even ventured into film production, as he became the producer of the family film 'Zoop in Africa', which was based on a television series. Released in 2005, the film has already spawned a couple of sequels.

In his business endeavors, Marcel seeks the advice of several renowned businessmen, such as former CEO of the supermarket chain 'Ahold', Cees van der Hoeven.
