NHL Draft and Stint with Adler Mannheim

In 2001, Goc was drafted 20th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the NHL draft. However, he chose to remain in Germany with Adler Mannheim, where he continued to accumulate accolades. In 2003, he led the DEL in scoring with 54 points in 52 games.

NHL Debut and Stint with the Sharks

In the 2003-04 season, Goc finally made the move to North America, joining the Cleveland Barons, San Jose's AHL affiliate. After a successful season in Cleveland, he was called up to the Sharks in 2004-05 and quickly established himself as a reliable centerman.

Journeyman Years and Stint with the Predators

Goc spent the next several years as a journeyman, playing for the San Jose Sharks, Nashville Predators, and Florida Panthers. In Nashville, he signed a one-year contract for $550,000 but later renegotiated a more lucrative deal for $775,000 after a strong first half of the 2009-10 season.

Pittsburgh Penguins and International Career

In 2014, Goc was traded from the Panthers to the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he spent two seasons. Throughout his career, he also played extensively for the German national team, participating in numerous world championships and two Olympic Games.
