Marcos de Mendonça

Marcos de Mendonça began his football career in 1910, playing for Haddock Lobo. The following year, he joined America, where he helped the club win the Rio de Janeiro State Championship in 1913.

Flávio

In 1914, Mendonça moved to Fluminense, where he spent the remainder of his career. He became the first goalkeeper in the club's history and helped the team win three consecutive Rio de Janeiro Championships.

Brazil International

Mendonça was also a key member of the Brazilian national team. He debuted in 1914 against Exeter City and played in the first match between Brazil and Argentina. He won two South American Championships with Brazil in 1919 and 1922.

Later Career

After retiring from football, Mendonça became a historian. He served as president of Fluminense from 1941 to 1943 and passed away in Rio de Janeiro in 1988.
