Early Career and NHL Draft

Marek Zagrapan began his professional hockey career in 2002 with Czech Extraliga team HC Zlín, playing for their farm club prior. In 2005, he was selected 13th overall in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres.

North American Journey and Return to Europe

Zagrapan spent the period from 2004 to 2009 playing in various North American leagues, including the QMJHL and AHL. Despite his success, he did not receive a call-up to the NHL. In 2009, he signed with Severstal Cherepovets of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

After an unremarkable stint with Russian team Yugra in 2010, Zagrapan returned to the Czech Republic, signing with HC Oceláři Třinec. With Třinec, he made history by winning the Czech Championship for the first time in 2011.

Finnish Adventure

Following his triumph in Czechoslovakia, Zagrapan moved to Finland in 2011, joining Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho (HPK) of the Finnish Liiga. He remained with HPK for one season before returning to the Slovak ExtraLiga to play for HK Poprad.

International Play

At the international level, Zagrapan represented Slovakia at multiple World Championships, including the U-18 Junior Championships in 2003 and 2004, the U-20 World Junior Championships in 2005 and 2006, and the 2010 Men's World Championships.
