Early Career and Professional Debut
Tomáš Starosta, a Slovak ice hockey defenseman, began his skating journey with Dukla Trenčín's youth team. He showcased his talent in their farm club before making his professional debut with Dukla Trenčín in 1999.

Time in Trenčín and Nefthekimik
Starosta spent five seasons with Dukla Trenčín until 2004, amassing significant experience. He then traveled to Russia, joining Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk for the following six years. During his tenure in Nizhnekamsk, he played 314 matches, recording 72 points (16 goals and 56 assists).
Salavat Yulaev and Gagarin Cup
On August 18, 2010, Starosta made a significant career move, signing a one-year contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa. This decision proved transformative, as he guided the team to their first-ever Gagarin Cup triumph in 2011.
Return to Russia and International Success
In 2011, Starosta moved to Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk, where he played for the following year. On the international stage, he represented Slovakia at various levels, including the 1999 World Junior Championship and the 2000 and 2001 World Youth Championships. As a senior player, he participated in four World Championships (2007, 2008, 2010, and 2012), amassing 27 appearances and three assists.
