Maria Prytz is a Swedish curler who has had a successful career in the sport. She is best known for playing in teams led by Anette Norberg and Margaretha Sigfridsson. Throughout her career, Prytz has played for several different teams, achieving victories at both European and international levels.

Early Career and Junior Championships

In 1994, Prytz made her first appearance at the World Junior Curling Championships as a reserve player for Margaretha Lindahl's team. The team won a bronze medal that year. The following year, Prytz returned to the Championships with Lindahl's team again and they won a silver medal. In 1997, she joined Margaretha Sigfridsson's team and once again brought home a silver medal from the Championships.

Continued Success and National Team

In 1998, Prytz competed as the third player for Matilda Mattsson's team and won a bronze medal at the World Junior Curling Championships. After her time in the junior format, Prytz joined Anette Norberg's team as a reserve player. In 1999, they won a silver medal at the European Curling Championships. Prytz continued to have success with Norberg's team, winning gold at the European Championships in 2003 and 2007, silver at the World Championships in 2001, and bronze at the World Championships in 2003.

Team Changes and Further Achievements

In 2002, Prytz played for Sigfridsson's team at the World Championships and won another silver medal. She then joined Stina Viktorsson's team but faced a decrease in performance. Realizing this, Prytz returned to Sigfridsson's team and they won a silver medal at the European Championships in 2011. In 2012, Prytz won a bronze medal at the European Championships and in 2013, she claimed a gold medal at the Championships held in Stavanger, Norway.

Olympic Games and Final Years

In 2014, Prytz represented Sweden at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi as part of the national team led by Sigfridsson. Although the team did not win the gold medal, they were not defeated by any other Swedish team. The gold medal that year went to the Canadian team led by Jennifer Jones.
