Biography of Mario Evaristo

Mario Evaristo, born Marino "Mario" Evaristo on December 10, 1908, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a talented Argentine football player who primarily played as a left winger. He participated in the 1934 World Cup. Evaristo's journey in football began with the help of his brother Juan, who played for "Sportivo Barracas." He started playing in the youth team of the club. In 1925, scouts from the club "Boca Juniors" noticed the talented player, and he joined the team a year later. From the early days at "Barracas," Evaristo stood out with his remarkable speed, and the coaches at "Boca Juniors" took advantage of this by placing him on the left flank of the attack. Evaristo played for the club for six years, winning three Argentine Championships and the Estimulo Cup. In 1932, a conflict arose between Evaristo, Cherro, Tarascona, and the club's management, leading Evaristo to leave the team. He returned to his youth club, "Sportivo Barracas," and became a champion of Argentina among amateur teams before moving on to play for "Independiente."

In 1935, Evaristo went to Italy to play for "Genoa." He made his debut for the Genoan team on September 29 in a match against "Roma," which ended with a 2-1 victory for "Genoa." In total, Evaristo played 11 matches and scored 4 goals for the Italian team. After "Genoa," he moved to France, where he played for "Antibes" and "Nice."
