Early Life and Education

Marysz Dmochowski, a renowned Polish actor, was born in Piotrków Trybunalski. In 1955, he graduated from the prestigious State Higher School of Theater in Warsaw (now the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Academy of Dramatic Arts).

Stage Career

Dmochowski made his stage debut in 1955 and went on to perform at renowned Warsaw theaters such as the Polish Theater (1955-1965), the Universal Theater (1965-1968), and the National Theater (1968-1974). He served as director of the Jan Kochanowski Drama Theater in Opole from 1973-1975 and as general director and artistic director of the New Theater from 1975 onward.

Political Involvement

In the 1980s, Dmochowski became involved with the democratic opposition movement in Poland. He was elected as a deputy to the Polish parliament (Sejm) on behalf of the Polish United Workers' Party.

Later Career and Legacy

Dmochowski returned to the Polish Theater in 1982 and remained there until 1987. He then joined the Contemporary Theater ("Współczesny") in Warsaw, where he worked until 1992. Dmochowski passed away on August 7, 1992, and was laid to rest in Warsaw's Stary Powązki Cemetery.
