Biography of Maria Zhigunova

Maria Zhigunova is an actress and the daughter of popular Russian actors Sergei Zhigunov and Vera Novikova. Born in Russia, Maria was destined to follow in her parents' footsteps and try her hand at acting.

In 1997, Maria made her film debut in the drama "Razdetye" (Undressed) directed by Kirill Serebrennikov. Her performance in the film showcased her talent and potential as an actress.

In 2002, Maria took on the role of Katya, a future figure skating star and the love interest of the main character, in the television series "Vovochka." Her portrayal of Katya further solidified her skills as an actress, earning her recognition and praise from both critics and audiences alike.

However, Maria decided to pursue a different path and not make a career out of acting. In July 2007, she enrolled as a student at Moscow State University (MGU), where she joined the Faculty of Philosophy. Despite her famous father's attempts to persuade her to choose a different, less challenging faculty, Maria remained determined to study philosophy.

Maria Zhigunova's decision to pursue a different field of study showcases her independence and intellectual curiosity. Although her acting career may have been promising, she chose to follow her own passions and carve her own path in life.
