Early Life and Career

Martin Annen was born in Switzerland and began his bobsledding career in 1996. He quickly rose through the ranks, representing his country in numerous international competitions.

Olympic Success

Annen made his Olympic debut at the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, where he won a bronze medal in the two-man event. Four years later, at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, he captured two more bronze medals, one in the two-man and one in the four-man event.

World Championships and World Cup Dominance

Annen's success extended beyond the Olympics. He earned two bronze medals at the World Championships, in 2001 in St. Moritz and 2005 in Calgary. In the World Cup, he was a dominant force, winning six titles: two in the combined standings (2001-2002 and 2004-2005), three in the two-man event (2000-2001, 2001-2002, and 2004-2005), and one in the four-man event (2001-2002).

Retirement and Legacy
