Biography of Matthew Fox

Matthew Fox was born on July 14, 1966, in Crowheart, Wyoming, USA. His parents lived on a farm where they raised horses, cattle, and grew barley for Coors beer. After finishing high school, Matthew enrolled in Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, and later transferred to Columbia University where he studied economics and played football for the university team. It was at Columbia University where Fox met a girl whose mother worked as a model agent, and she suggested that he try his hand at modeling. He decided to give it a shot and left his economics studies behind in favor of pursuing an acting career.

Early Career

After attending a film and television school in New York for two years, Matthew moved to Los Angeles. As a side job, he started working as a male model, and in 1992, he made his television debut in the series "Wings," where he appeared in only one episode. His next role in the film "My Boyfriend's Back" brought him some recognition and opened doors for further opportunities.

After these two successful series, Fox spent two years primarily taking on supporting roles until 2004, when he auditioned for one of the lead roles in the series "Lost." Since 2004, Fox has dedicated a significant amount of his time to this acclaimed series.
