Matvey Ivanov

Early Career and Success

Matvey Ivanov, a Latvian racing driver, commenced his karting career in September 2012, inspired by his father, a former racer in the Soviet Union. After claiming his first trophy, Ivanov embarked on a path towards championships in Latvia, the Baltics, and Northern Europe. He achieved the title of Vice Champion in the Rotax Junior class in 2016.

Hard Work Leads to Triumph

Through intense training both in and out of the kart, Ivanov's dedication paid off. In 2017, he emerged victorious as the Champion of Latvia, Estonia, and Northern Europe in the Rotax Junior class. This was a pivotal year for Ivanov, as he realized the possibilities that had seemed unattainable.

Progression to Rotax DD2

At the age of 16 in 2018, Ivanov progressed to the Rotax DD2 class. His debut race in this class took place in Estonia, where he secured a remarkable first place. His subsequent performances established him as a promising driver. That year, he claimed the Vice Championship of Latvia and the Championship of Estonia.

Continued Dominance

In 2019, Ivanov maintained his dominance in the Rotax DD2 class, securing the Latvian Championship title. He also earned the Vice Championship titles of Northern Europe and Estonia. Ivanov participated in the Rotax Grand Final in 2017, 2018, and 2019. His most notable performance came in 2019, where he held the potential for victory, but an error in qualifying hindered his chances.
