Maurice Greenberg was born on May 4, 1925, in New York City, USA. He spent his childhood in New York and during World War II, he served in the United States Army. Greenberg participated in the liberation of Dachau and was involved in various conflicts with Korea. He achieved the rank of captain and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.

Education and Career

In 1950, Maurice Greenberg received a preliminary degree from the University of Miami and the New York Law School. In 1953, he obtained a Juris Doctor degree. In addition to these educational institutions, Greenberg holds degrees from Brown University and Middlebury College.

In 1968, Maurice Greenberg became the CEO of AIG, a position he was appointed to by the company's founder, Cornelius Vander Starr. He served in this role until 2005 when he was succeeded by Martin Sullivan.
