Maurizio Altieri, a renowned fashion designer, was born in 1966 in Italy. Despite initially pursuing careers in economics and law, Altieri felt unfulfilled and embarked on a journey to discover his true purpose in life. He traveled to the most unusual and exotic places on the planet, leaving behind tattoos, his famous dreadlocks, and a deep passion for exploring new destinations.

After seven years of traveling, Altieri returned to his native Italy and settled in Perugia. It was there that he found his calling in creating clothing and footwear. In 1994, Altieri launched the Carpe Diem project, followed by the C.Diem collection a year later. Under this brand, he produces leather clothing and footwear that have gained international recognition.

In 1998, Altieri expanded his creative portfolio by incorporating woven fabrics and knitwear, which he showcased under the LMaltieri label. While his early collections were presented in Paris showrooms, Altieri decided to close his representation in France in 2000. Instead, buyers from all over the world now visit him directly in Perugia.

Altieri's designs do not conform to traditional seasonal collections showcased on runways or advertised extensively. Each year, he adds new elements to the existing pieces he has "invented." Every new item is rooted in an original cutting technique or material preparation technology of exceptional quality. All his creations are meticulously handmade in limited quantities, contributing to their higher market value.
