Gata Kamsky: American Chess Grandmaster and Businessman

Gata Kamsky is an American chess grandmaster and former president of the United States Chess Federation. He is renowned as one of the most successful businessmen in the chess world.

Early Life and Chess Education

Kamsky began his chess journey under the guidance of his grandfather and at a chess club at his local Pioneers' House. In 1977, he immigrated to the United States with his parents, Alexander and Nina Dlugy, settling in New York City.
