Early Life and Education

Max Isaakovich Reiderman, a Ukrainian Soviet medical scientist in the fields of internal medicine, cardiology, and medical genetics, was born into a family of doctors in Kyiv, Ukraine. Before the outbreak of World War II, he enrolled in the Kyiv State Medical Institute, which was later evacuated to Chelyabinsk. He completed his studies in Kyiv in 1945.

Academic Career

After graduating, Reiderman spent two years teaching at a medical school in Kyiv. He then began a postgraduate program under the renowned Ukrainian therapist Professor Max Moiseevich Hübergrits. However, due to the campaign against "rootless cosmopolitans," his studies were interrupted, and he was sent to the Far East.

Military Service and Later Career

Reiderman served as a military doctor in China and later in Olga, Primorsky Krai, for a total of 10 years. Upon demobilization, he initially worked in Kyiv before becoming a factory physician at a mine in Donetsk. He rose through the ranks of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Donetsk Medical Institute, where he earned his Candidate's and Doctoral degrees in cardiology and medical genetics, respectively.

After defending his doctoral dissertation, Reiderman became head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Poltava State Medical Institute's Faculty of Dentistry from 1981 to 1990. He subsequently became head of the infarction department at the Moscow Emergency Hospital.

Research and Publications

Throughout his career, Reiderman authored over 120 scientific papers on genetic lung diseases and cardiology. Many of these works were co-written with his wife, L.S. Parshikova.

Publicistic Activities

Since 1995, Reiderman has resided in Cologne, Germany, where he has been actively involved in publicistic activities in both online and print publications. He primarily writes on medical and historical-medical topics. He is a regular contributor to the online journal "Notes on Jewish History" in Hanover, Germany.

Family

Reiderman's son, Alexei Parshikov, is a poet. Together, they translated the poet Hendrik Jackson's manifesto "Transzendenz oder Innerhalb der brechenden Schale" from German into Russian.
