Biography of Mike Huckabee
Mike Huckabee is a moderately conservative American politician and member of the Republican Party. He served as the Governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007 and was the Chairman of the Southern Governors' Association and the National Governors Association from 2005 to 2007. Huckabee ran as a candidate for the President of the United States in 2008, finishing in third place during the Republican primaries. He is also a ordained Baptist minister, pastor, and former president of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention from 1989 to 1991.
Political Career
During his tenure as governor, Huckabee focused on addressing social needs, particularly in providing assistance to the underprivileged, orphans, and immigrants. Many representatives from the Democratic Party supported Huckabee's policies due to his dedication to social welfare. As a presidential candidate, Huckabee's proposed program aimed to strengthen social security, relax immigration laws, including granting amnesty to undocumented immigrants already living in the United States, and simplify the citizenship process for such individuals. He also emphasized healthcare, environmental protection, subsidizing agricultural farms, increasing domestic production, and exploring new sources of energy to ensure both energy independence and environmental cleanliness.

In terms of foreign policy, Huckabee remained a conservative. He also voiced opposition to same-sex marriage and abortions.
