Biography of Megan McJames
Megan McJames was born on September 24, 1987, in Park City, Utah, USA. She started skiing at the age of two in Alta, where her parents were instructors. However, since Alta was not designed for racing programs, McJames joined the Park City ski team at the age of eight. Feeling confident, Megan competed as part of the national team at the 2005 Junior World Championships and then regularly appeared in World Cups.

Emerging as a Rising Star
McJames' appearance alongside other European World Cup skiers at the NorAm race seemed somewhat supernatural. At the end of the 2006 season, she performed exceptionally well, becoming the champion in the overall NorAm, super-G, and giant slalom events. Since then, McJames has been a regular competitor in World Cup races, with the goal of becoming the next world champion from Park City.

Overcoming Challenges
The American skier competed in giant slalom events in Aspen before heading to Lake Louise for a series of speed races. Unfortunately, on a difficult high-speed traverse, McJames collided with a panel and broke her wrist. Two weeks later, she returned to the start of the World Cup in Zauchensee, Austria, and soon after, she earned even more points in Maribor. Reflecting on her season, Megan said, "I experienced everything this season, from personal achievements in the World Cup series to my first serious injury with a broken hand."

Successes and Passions
McJames' coach taught her to constantly go with the flow, and in this continuous movement, the skier repeatedly stood on the podium, including a second-place finish in the slalom-giant at the American Mountain Championship in Alyeska, Alaska. Throughout the week, she witnessed various events, from volcanic eruptions to a snowfall of 2.74 meters. The young and talented McJames excelled in slalom-giant races in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, and Lienz, Austria, before receiving the notification of her inclusion in the Olympic team.
Apart from skiing, Megan enjoys playing soccer, tennis, mountain biking, hiking, and cooking. Thanks to organizations like the Park City ski team and winter sports school, she was able to pursue her snowy dreams. When she is not busy with her skiing career, McJames attends Westminster College. She was named a member of the US team that will compete in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
