Biography of Melanie Roach
Early LifeMelanie Roach, an American weightlifter, was born on December 14, 1974, in Oregon. From a young age, she had a passion for sports, primarily focusing on gymnastics. Roach achieved some notable results in gymnastics, but after injuring her shoulder during a training session, she decided to give up gymnastics and pursue a different sport.
Transition to Weightlifting
After undergoing surgery and recovering from her injury, Roach became interested in weightlifting. In 1994, she started training diligently at the Calpian Weightlifting Club under the guidance of her experienced coach, John Thrasher.

Roach decided to focus on her family during this time, getting married and having three children. One of her children is diagnosed with autism and requires special care.
