Melody Daoust: Canadian Ice Hockey Star
Early Success at College LevelMelody Daoust began her hockey career at Collège Édouard-Montpetit Lynx in Quebec, establishing herself as a formidable player. She led the team to a championship victory and set a league-leading record with 55 points (24 goals, 31 assists) in just 13 games.
International Debut and Gold
Daoust made her international debut for Canada's Under-18 team, contributing 10 goals and 23 points in 13 games. At the 2010 IIHF World Women's Under-18 Championship, she scored a goal and an assist in the gold medal game.
CWHL Debut and McGill Martlets
In 2011, Daoust made her CWHL debut with the Montreal Stars as an emergency backup. She quickly made an impact, scoring 3 points in her first game. Later that year, she committed to play for McGill University's women's hockey program on an athletic scholarship.
International Success and Honors
Daoust represented Canada at the 2010 World Championships, earning a gold medal. Her outstanding performance earned her a spot on the Upper Deck 2010 World of Sports trading card. She also participated in a celebration event for Canada's world and Olympic champions in Edmonton, Alberta.
Olympic Debut and Goal
On February 17, 2014, Daoust scored her first international goal at the Sochi Olympics in a game against Switzerland. She also made her Olympic debut with the Canadian women's hockey team.
