Meshach Dean: Early Career
English footballer Meshach Dean began his career at Port Vale in 1890. He spent six years with the club, twice emerging as their leading goalscorer: in 1892-93 with 6 goals and in 1894-95 with 8 goals.
Dean's Departure from Port Vale
Dean's fortunes at Port Vale took a turn in September 1895 when he lost his place in the team. At the conclusion of that season, he departed from the club. His departure marked the end of his time at Port Vale, with Dean having made 151 appearances for the team, with 75 of those in the Football League. Throughout his tenure with the club, he scored 42 goals, 21 of which were in the Football League.
