Rob Slotemaker: A Dutch Racing Legend
Early Career in Formula Super Vee and Formula FordDutch racing driver Rob Slotemaker began his career in the Dutch championships for Formula Super Vee and Formula Ford.
Formula 1 Debut and European Formula 3
In 1977, Slotemaker made his Formula 1 debut at the Dutch Grand Prix but failed to qualify. The following year, he competed in the European Formula 3 Championship and, towards the end of the season, participated in four Formula 1 Grands Prix with Team ATS. In these four attempts, he only started once and retired from the race.
Return to Formula 3
Slotemaker returned to Formula 3 in 1979 and remained in the championship until 1981.
Success in Sports Car Racing
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Slotemaker competed in various touring and sports car championships, including the FIA GT Series in 2001.
Notable Achievement
In 2008, Slotemaker achieved a significant milestone by finishing second in the Dubai 24 Hour race alongside his sons Jeroen and Sebastiaan, as well as Jan Lammers.
