Michael Bowen is an American actor known for his roles in films such as "Jackie Brown," "Magnolia," "Less Than Zero," and "Kill Bill: Volume 1." He also had a recurring role as Danny Pickett in the television series "Lost."
Early Career
Bowen began his career with minor roles in films like "Valley Girl" (1983), "Iron Eagle" (1985), and "Less Than Zero" (1987). In the late 90s, he transitioned to supporting roles and honed his skills. One of his most memorable performances was as Detective Mark Dargus, the partner of Agent Ray Nicolette (played by Michael Keaton), in Quentin Tarantino's film "Jackie Brown" (1997). He then portrayed Rick Specter, the incapacitated father of a game show contestant named Stanley (played by Jeremy Blackman), in Paul Thomas Anderson's mosaic film about modern Los Angeles life, "Magnolia" (1999).
Later Career
Over the next decade, Bowen worked with Tarantino again in "Kill Bill: Volume 1" (2003) and played a ruthless and deceitful lawyer in the psychological drama "Self-Medicated" (2005), directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Monty Lapica. He also took on the recurring role of an impulsive and tough representative of "The Others" in the second and third seasons (2006-2007) of the popular television drama "Lost."
