Early Life and Career

Valery Reingold was born in Kursk, Russia, and began his football career with Trudovye Rezervy Kursk. In 1970, he joined Spartak Moscow, where he spent the majority of his career. Reingold played for Spartak until 1979 and was a key member of the team's 1979 USSR Championship-winning squad.

International Recognition

Reingold's talent also earned him recognition at the international level. He was selected to represent the USSR Olympic football team, making several appearances. His performances for the national side further cemented his reputation as a skilled and versatile midfielder.

Later Career and Personal Struggles

After leaving Spartak Moscow, Reingold played for Kairat, Dinamo Samarkand, and Krasnaya Presnya. However, his later years were marked by personal and health challenges. Reingold struggled with a mental health disorder and experienced difficulties in his personal life, including a separation from his wife and two daughters.

Tragic Demise

In 1984, Reingold's struggles came to a tragic end. After a failed attempt to reconcile with his wife, he took his own life by jumping from the 11th floor of a building. He was buried at the Mitino Cemetery in Moscow.

Honors and Legacy

Despite his untimely demise, Reingold's footballing achievements are still remembered. He was awarded the title of Master of Sports of the USSR in 1971. In addition to the USSR Championship title, Reingold also won the USSR Cup in 1971 with Spartak Moscow. His talent and determination continue to inspire young football players in Russia and beyond.
