Early Life and Career
Born into a humble Jewish family, General-Major's military career began in 1920 when he joined the Red Army. He graduated from an artillery school and rose through the ranks.
World War II Service
During the Great Patriotic War, General-Major served in various high-ranking positions within the Soviet Air Defense Forces. He was a deputy commander of a PVO army, chief of staff of the Moscow Front PVO, and chief of staff of the Special Moscow PVO Army.
Post-War Years
In the aftermath of the war, General-Major assumed the prestigious position of chief of the Central Staff of the Red Army's Air Defense Forces. He held this post until his untimely death in 1947.
