Biography of Michael Lounsbury

Michael Lounsbury is an American expert in the field of strategic management theory and innovation. He is currently a professor of strategic management, organization, and sociology at the University of Alberta. Lounsbury has made significant contributions to the field of new institutionalism, with a particular interest in nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Born in 1966, Michael Lounsbury earned his Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University in 1999. Prior to his current position, he was a professor of entrepreneurship at Cornell University. Currently, Lounsbury serves as the director of the Technology Commercialization Centre at the University of Alberta and is a research fellow at the Canadian National Institute for Nanotechnology (CNIN).

Lounsbury is the editor-in-chief of "Research in the Sociology of Organizations," a publication that showcases research in the field of organizational sociology. This work is published by Emerald Group Publishing, a company responsible for academic journals and books. He is also a co-editor of "Organization Studies," published by SAGE Publications, and an assistant editor for the "Academy of Management Annals."
