Biography of Michael Todaro

Michael Todaro is an American economist and one of the leading specialists and pioneers in the field of development economics. He served as a professor of economics at New York University for 18 years and worked for 30 years at the non-profit organization, Population Council. Additionally, Todaro spent 6 years living and teaching in Africa.

Contributions and Publications

Todaro has authored 8 books and more than 50 articles on various aspects of economics. One of his notable works, 'Migration, Unemployment and Development: A 2-Sector Analysis,' was included in the centennial edition of the 'American Economic Review' as one of the 20 most important articles ever published in the journal. He is also known as one of the authors of the highly popular textbook 'Economic Development,' which had its 11th edition published in 2011.
